MADAM

  • Ideal Glass Studios 9 West 8th Street New York, NY, 10011 United States (map)

In the throes of the Roaring 20’s, it was neither the bootleggers, Broadway producers, nor Wall Street bankers who held the secrets of the decade. It was Polly Adler, a Madam of notoriety who ran a house that entertained the likes of New York’s most powerful players of the 1920’s. From her beginnings as a young Belarusian-Jewish immigrant, Polly Adler ushered in the modern-era of sex work, becoming a successful and influential figure in her own right. Written by creative duo Felix Jarrar and Bea Goodwin, Madam tells the story of a young woman’s journey to find home, and the lessons she learns along the way.

Madam will be presented at the Ideal Glass Studio Mansion in the historic West Village. This exclusive experience is a three part event, and each ticket includes an invitation to the pre party, the opera premiere, and the after party! Join us before the opera at Polly’s Parlor for live music, games, and drinks. After the premiere, stay to experience one of Polly’s own infamous parties. Attendees are encouraged to dress the part (1920s glam)! This premiere will be raising funds for a longer run of Madam across different boroughs. This immersive event will fuse the decadence of a historic speakeasy with the luminescence of a new opera, cultivating what is sure to be an unforgettable experience. GET TIX HERE.
